PFX2011- the invitational
For 2011, the traditionally open-armed PFO is the PFX, inviting four South Carolina writers to share new work during the festival. The PFX2011 writers:
Lisa Kerr is an assistant professor at the Medical University of South Carolina and author of Girl vs. Bear, and a poetry chapbook from Stepping Stone Press.
Stephanie Hunt is a contributing editor at Skirt! Magazine and SoMA Review, named a Times of London Top-10 Most Influential Religion Blog.
Anthony Varallo’s second story collection, Out Loud, won the 2008 Drue Heinz Literature Prize. His first collection, This Day in History, won the 2005 John Simmons Short Fiction Award. He has received an NEA Fellowship in Literature, and his stories have appeared in Gettysburg Review, New England Review, Epoch, and elsewhere. Currently he is assistant professor of English at the College of Charleston, where he is the fiction editor of Crazyhorse.
Quitman Marshall is the founding coordinator of the Literary Series at Spoleto Festival USA. His chapbooks include The Birth Gift, 14th Street, and The Slow Comet.
The Readings are at Blue Bicycle Books, 420 King St. on June 4 from 5pm-7pm.
the Piccolo Fiction Open is a literary component of the Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival, sponsored by
